Short version: no tracking, no analytics, no ad cookies. We only see what you send us.

WHAT THIS SITE DOES NOT DO
We set no cookies and use no analytics, tracking pixels, ad networks or social media plugins. Fonts and images are served with the site itself, so a page loads nothing from third parties. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
VISITING THE SITE
When you open a page, the server receives what every browser sends: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser's user agent. We use this only to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a working, secure site). Server logs are deleted after 14 days.
The site runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre in the EU. Hetzner processes data for us under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Requests reach that server through Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA), which handles our domain, encrypts the connection and protects the site from attacks. Cloudflare sees the same request data in passing and processes it for us under a data processing agreement. Cloudflare may process data in the USA; Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found to provide adequate protection (Art. 45 GDPR). To tell people from bots, Cloudflare can set a strictly necessary security cookie; it is not used for tracking.
THE CONTACT FORM AND EMAIL
When you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the topic and spend range you picked, and your message. We use them only to answer you and, if it comes to that, to prepare a proposal (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps before a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f), our interest in answering enquiries).
Form messages are delivered to our mailbox by email through Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google may process data in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found to provide adequate protection (Art. 45 GDPR).
We delete enquiries once they are dealt with, unless they lead to a contract, in which case commercial and tax law require us to keep business correspondence for up to 10 years. To stop spam, the server remembers your IP address for 10 minutes after you send the form, then forgets it.
“ASK YOUR OWN QUESTION”
The question box at the bottom of the service pages is answered by an AI model from Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC, 548 Market Street, PMB 90375, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). When you ask, we send Anthropic the text of your question, the page you asked it on and the page language. We do not send your IP address or anything else about you. Please don't type personal data into it.
Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our interest in answering questions about our services quickly. Data goes to the USA under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in Anthropic's data processing terms (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Under those terms Anthropic does not use API data to train its models and keeps it only for a limited period. We do not store your questions or the answers. To stop abuse, the server remembers your IP address for 10 minutes after a question, then forgets it.
YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17)
- have its processing restricted (Art. 18)
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20)
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21)
